"The global mission of Timegarden is to collect stories and the media which represents them which have happened, are happening or will happen in a social environment. This unique “go to” place provides a variety of social tools which allows people to build connections, interact and contribute to Stories and their content. This also fosters new discoveries, the ability to search, to request and promote. To build Stories, Timegarden accepts visual media, short notes and plans to accept audio notes. Timegarden primarily works with unique content which has never been published."
Timegarden allows you to work with other people on the same subject of interest by merging photos of those subjects all together. Timegarden calls those subjects "Stories" and the collaborators on Stories could be your friends, family or even complete strangers. The idea behind Timegarden is that you all have one thing in common – photos of the Story in question.
Examples of Stories could be the annual Memorial Day Parade in your town, your high school's basketball team through the years or your crazy grandma Doris.
What makes Timegarden unique is how we organize and allow you to utilize the pictures related to those Stories. First off Timegarden organizes photos by place and time – virtually rebuilding the history of the Story. Timegarden also allows you connect pictures to other relevant Stories and additionally allows you to connect Stories to Stories. Now those people who have photos of your great grandmothers house taken in 1890 have a place to share these with you, a complete stranger.

Starting a Story is simple. Simply click the blue + button in the bottom right hand corner of your screen and then the "Create a Story" link to get started. There is also a Create Story function in the top left corner of your home screen. Then you can:
To link a Story to a picture on Timegarden look for the "Create or Link" icon directly below the photo when you view it on a Story page. You can use that feature to link to a pre-existing Story or create a new one.
To link a Story to another Story click the blue + button and choose the "Link a Story" option. On Timegarden, we encourage only links to Stories which are related to the Story you are linking from. (For example, the Story of Abraham Lincoln probably shouldn't be linked to a Story about Johnny's Pizza in Old Town, Maine, unless of course Mr. Lincoln ate there regularly, then that would make sense…which um, it doesn't.) Get it?
No – Timegarden is currently free to use and will always have a free option.
Easy! Simply click on any story and press the blue + button on the bottom right corner of the Story page. Then choose the Add Photos option. If the Story is public and open, you will be able to add a photo. Please make sure any content you are adding to a Story is specifically related to the Story – because that's what Timegarden is all about!
There are currently three privacy levels, Public Open, Public Closed and Private. Public Stories are visible to anyone and Private Stories are visible only to you and the users you invite.
A RED circle around a Story means the Story is Private.
A YELLOW circle around a Story means the Story is Public but closed to invited users only.
A GREEN circle around a Story means anyone can add a picture.
Timegarden is "Time and Place" engine. By adding the location and date to your pictures, it helps Timegarden organize them and also helps other users discover them and make connections. It's also just kinda cool.
That's fine – you can leave those details blank or just give it your best guess. If you find out your info was incorrect, you can change it later on.
When you are executing a search please be sure to check for spelling errors. If you are still not finding it its either possible that Story has not been added to the website yet.
You will be automatically notified when users add content to your Story.
